Clock Tower in Dehradun

One of the most significant and recognizable landmarks in the city of Dehradun is the Clock Tower (Ghanta Ghar). The clock tower is famous for its beautiful design and is one of its kind in Asia. Located on Rajpur Road, the Clock Tower has six faces, a feature which makes it unique. Built before Independence, the Clock Tower is not functional anymore, yet is still an important landmark in the city and can be seen from a distance.

The Wall Of The Clock Tower Comprises Names Of Various Freedom Fighters Which Are Engraved In A Gold Plaque. Clock Tower Forms The Center Of Dehradun City And Several Commercial Centers Are Easily Accessible From Here. Four Famous Roads- Chakarta Road, Paltan Bazaar Road, Rajpur Road And Haridwar Road Meets Here At The Clock Tower. The Prominent Clock Does Not Function Now But Earlier The Tick Tock Sounds Of The Clocks Were Audible To Far Distant Places.
